California Native Sharlene Garcia Joins AdFarm Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - (Jan. 11, 2012) As AdFarm expands its client work and presence in California, the company announces the hiring of Sharlene Garcia as an account manager in the agency's Sacramento office. Garcia brings eight years of experience in communications and California agriculture. She joins AdFarm from her previous role as communications director for the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG).
"Sharlene is deeply rooted in California's agricultural community," notes Roger Reierson, AdFarm's managing partner. "Her passion for agriculture and her wide-ranging experience are matched only by her strong desire to advance the agriculture industry. She is a tremendous asset to the AdFarm team and will be an integral part of our continued growth."
While at CAWG, Garcia worked to shepherd the launch of new programs and products including CAWG's weekly e-newsletter and the association's social media marketing initiatives. She worked to keep CAWG members informed about issues that affect their businesses, while making sure consumers understand the connection between the wine they drink and farmers who grow the grapes.
Prior to joining CAWG, Garcia was employed with the California Farm Bureau Federation, serving roles both in the organization's government affairs and communication/news division - specifically coordinating strategy on legislation affecting family farmers and ranchers.
Originally from Norco, Garcia grew up on her family's horse farm. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in agricultural sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
